Prince Harry returned to the UK ahead of a High Court judgment in his privacy lawsuit against Associated Newspapers Limited, publisher of the Daily Mail, with a decision expected at 2pm. The Duke of Sussex and a group of other high-profile claimants, including Baroness Doreen Lawrence, Sir Elton John and David Furnish, accuse the publisher of unlawful information gathering such as voicemail interception and blagging. At his January hearing Harry told the court ANL had put his life under surveillance, accused the publisher of “delving into every single aspect of my private life, listening in to calls, blagging flights” and said the litigation had driven him to the verge of tears. The trial was heard in the High Court in London and was described during coverage as a major, lengthy privacy battle. The ruling will determine whether those claims succeed and resolve the claims brought by Harry and the other named plaintiffs against ANL.
