Trump to present World Cup trophy alongside Gianni Infantino

FIFA president Gianni Infantino told Fox & Friends that he and former President Donald Trump will present the FIFA World Cup trophy on the field at MetLife Stadium next month. Infantino said, "We will be together with the president enjoying the final and handing the trophy to the winner, of course, together." Trump and Infantino made a similar presentation last year at the New Jersey stadium after Chelsea beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the FIFA Club World Cup Final. Infantino noted the appearance comes a year after an assassination attempt on Trump in Pennsylvania. The report says Trump established a White House Task Force for the 2026 World Cup and named Andrew Giuliani its executive director. The article also states Trump has not attended a World Cup match so far; Secretary of State Marco Rubio was spotted at the United States opener on June 12, a 4-1 win over Paraguay.

The USA, noted for their high-energy high-tempo football, limped out of the World Cup with a strange lifeless, listless, disjointed display. Belgium however produced their most dominant match so far. It's almost as if the Trump/Infantino intervention rattled the USA and fired up Belgium.
