Jasmine Paolini reaches Wimbledon quarterfinals

A couple of upsets pulled by Italians: Flavio Cobolli 7-5, 7⁷-6⁴, 6-3 vs Alex De Minaur, it was a tad absurd he was such a big underdog even though I didn't see straight sets coming. Jasmine Paolini 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 over Alex Eala, has totally turned her year around, makes the Wimbledon QFs.

Paolini's Progress Just when it looked like Jasmine Paolini may be reverting back to a solid-but-not-stellar player after about 3 years near the top, the Italian makes a big move at Wimbledon. The former runner-up earns the 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 win over Filipina phenom Alexandra Eala.

Jasmine Paolini, who has been having a horrible season, withstands Alexandra Eala and is into the quarterfinals. Remember, Robin Montgomery had Paolini on the ropes in the first round.

ESPN has Wimbledon on both ESPN and ESPN2 today. Paolini-Eala is on the latter. There is an option for it on the app/unlimited except it says De Minaur.

I absolutely adore Jasmine Paolini. Sad for Alex Eala, and can't wait to watch more of her in the future. She's going to be even more fantastic than she already is and she's made everyone so proud and happy. YAY Jasmine!
