England beat Mexico 3-2 at Estadio Azteca in a dramatic World Cup round-of-16 match as Jude Bellingham scored twice and Harry Kane converted a penalty. England played much of the second half with 10 men after Quansah received a red card in the 54th minute, yet Bellingham and Kane struck in a two-minute span to restore a lead Mexico relentlessly chased. The match was settled despite a late Mexican surge and notable saves from goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. Defender Djed Spence started wearing a protective face mask after a broken jaw sustained earlier in the season, lining up at right-back alongside Reece James as England managed the injury issue. England now advance to face Norway in the World Cup quarter-finals.
