Toy Story 5 didn’t have the high snark & sheer comedy of the previous 4, instead it was weirdly maudlin & at times very sad. The franchise had aged & become tired + flabby, like Woody, like you… Once more around the block with the old memories, Buzz Lightyear’s stickers yellowed & peeling.

We took the twins to see Toy Story 5 today and it was their first movie in the theaters! They got a little antsy towards the end, but they did great! Toy Story 5 was way better than Toy Story 4. The “screen time” message is good, but also makes me sad because it’s so real.
