Charles Leclerc wins British Grand Prix at Silverstone

Charles Leclerc won the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, claiming his first Formula 1 victory in nearly two years and giving Ferrari its second win in three races. The race finished confusingly under a safety car after race control changed its mind late, with Leclerc leading home Mercedes' George Russell and Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton. Championship leader Kimi Antonelli suffered a suspension failure while closing on Leclerc and dropped down the order; Antonelli crossed the line ninth but was demoted to 16th by a five-second penalty for exceeding track limits while his car was failing. Red Bull's Max Verstappen crashed at Stowe while chasing Hamilton for second, and the safety car for that incident promoted Russell to second after Mercedes kept him out while others pitted for fresh tyres. Hamilton will be investigated after the race for a yellow-flag infringement. The result cuts Antonelli's championship lead over Russell to 25 points, with Hamilton a further seven points behind pending the investigation; the next race is the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps from 17 to 19 July.
