Turner Classic Movies screened Robert Siodmak’s 1949 noir Criss Cross, starring Burt Lancaster, Yvonne De Carlo and Dan Duryea, as part of its Eddie Muller, hosted Summer of Darkness film noir lineup. TCM programmed Criss Cross in the TCMParty late-night slot, listed as 11:00 PM ET (8:00 PM PT), runtime 1h 28m. The Summer of Darkness festival runs Friday nights in June and July (except June 19, reserved for a Juneteenth tribute), with Muller hosting prime-time selections and late-night salutes to neo-noirs such as The Long Good Friday, The Yakuza and Harper. The 2026 program draws mainly from Muller’s “Endless Night: 25 Noir Films that Will Stand the Test of Time,” featuring 23 of those films plus two substitutes, and this month’s entries are drawn from 1940s noirs to illustrate the genre’s development. Criss Cross was presented within that chronological sequence, highlighting postwar noir themes of moral ambiguity and betrayal central to Muller’s curation.
