Mohamed Salah calmly chipped a panenka down the middle to convert his penalty as Egypt beat Australia 4-2 in a shootout to reach the World Cup round of 16. Salah’s cheeky finish drew a grin at the goalkeeper and left him moved to tears after the victory. Salah said of the penalty, "If someone would do it in a game, it would be me," adding he decided last minute to boost teammates' confidence. Props to a clearly irritated Mo Salah for standing up for Cape Verde when an interviewer said it will be Salah versus Messi in the next round — basically saying Cape Verde has no chance to beat Argentina. Salah told him that we have to “respect” all teams and walked away.
