LEGO drivers' parade returns at British Grand Prix with 22 minicars

LEGO is staging a Drivers' Parade at the 2026 British Grand Prix at Silverstone in which each of the 22 F1 drivers will take a lap in a bespoke LEGO-built minicart. LEGO built 22 driveable minicars at its Kladno, Czechia factory using about 28,000 bricks per car; a team of 20 designers, engineers and builders spent roughly 6,400 hours assembling them. The minicars are smaller than the life-size builds used at the 2025 Miami Grand Prix but can reach a top speed of 25 mph. LEGO chief marketing officer Julia Goldin said the return is a direct response to fan and driver demand after Miami, and Formula 1 chief commercial officer Emily Prazer called last year’s Miami parade one of the season’s most memorable moments. At Miami, drivers shared 11 life-size LEGO cars, that event became competitive and several cars picked up damage; for Silverstone, every driver getting an individual minicart removes the need to share vehicles and increases the chance of on-track mayhem. The parade runs on Sunday ahead of the race and is positioned as a spectacle for the Silverstone crowd and global viewers alike.
