LEGO drivers' parade returns at British Grand Prix with 22 minicars

LEGO is bringing its Drivers' Parade back to Silverstone for the 2026 British Grand Prix, with all 22 F1 drivers each taking a lap in a bespoke LEGO-built minicart. LEGO built 22 minicars at its Kladno, Czechia factory; each car uses about 28,000 bricks, is fully driveable and can reach a top speed of 25 mph. The minicars took a team of 20 designers, engineers and builders roughly 6,400 hours to assemble. LEGO chief marketing officer Julia Goldin said the return is a "2.0 version" after strong fan and driver response to the 2025 Miami event, when teams raced 11 life-size LEGO cars and teammates had to share two-seaters. Formula 1 commercial chief Emily Prazer called the stunt a spectacle that combines "innovation, creativity, and entertainment" for fans worldwide. Given the damage suffered by several builds in Miami when drivers raced competitively, organizers expect an entertaining but potentially destructive parade at Silverstone on Sunday.
