Danny Glover reveals Alzheimer's diagnosis
Legendary actor Danny Glover reveals on TODAY that he’s been living with Alzheimer’s disease:
O no. Just left ER with a friend's Mom who has Alzheimer's. It's such a cruel disease. I hope Mr. Glover has top notch care. It's devastating.
Sad news to hear. He's too young for this shit.
Such a cruel disease🥺 Bless him and his family.🤎
Just a reminder, everyone on this site is the same age DG was in Lethal Weapon, i.e. "too old for this shit" (39)
So sad, and so brave to be open with this information.
I'm so sorry to hear this news. All the best to him, his family, and his caregiving team.
The only one to actually get into fundraising to make the biopic of Toussaint L'overture and the Haitian revolution. They told him it "needed more white heroes" or some shit
Glover is an American treasure.
Praying for him and I hope he is getting the best care.
I despise Alzheimer’s disease (or dementia) it is so very cruel…
I hate to see it. 😔 Our icons are going through it. I really thought he was older than 79 though. Prayers up for him.
Damn. That’s sad. Peace to the legend.
I'm too old for this shit
I hate that “I’m gettin too old for this shit” is not as funny as it used to be, I hate this.
Met him when I was 8, he was 1 of the biggest stars in the world, and doing a commercial for amnesty international. Incredibly kind. I will be praying for him
This gets me in the gut. The Color Purple is one of my favorite movies of all time. He was stellar in his role, one that required him to portray a sadistic monster. He was unflinching in his portrayal. I really hope we can figure out a cure for Alzheimer’s in coming years. 😞
We owe Danny Glover a great debt as he was among the first student activists to demand, strike, and create the first Black Studies program that began at San Francisco State and spread throughout the country. He helped changed the course of education www.thecommongoodus.org/past-speaker...
I have had the great honor of two conversations with him in different settings here in SLC. Besides his acting, as pointed out, he has been an activist. We got to talk about his "taxi" situation. I recalled as he was on the news about how during the on the street interview, a Black man walked up /1
Aw man. I’ve thought of Glover periodically, (amongst other elders) wondering where he’s been and this is one of the last answers you’d want. I’ve seen this disease take a close family member and it’s one of my biggest personal concerns. All love to him.
You know what, I did not know that. I was wondering why I was running into him at high school basketball games in the Bay Area. I should have bought him a soda or something. I miss the bay.
Oh sad news. What an extraordinary life!
in spite of everything i say and know about black and white photography, my first thought is always memorial post lol y’all can’t do this to me
Danny Glover is such a fucking legend. The realest of real ones. 12/10.
He always shows up in the Bay. Always showed up for my dad and the vets' movement. Showed up for my old friend Kevin Epps when he was unjustly accused of murder. Also gave my dad a jumpstart once in the USF parking lot.
I used to work at the place where his mail got delivered. He was beloved even there.
