Great American State Fair booth removes Confederate flag

A North Carolina exhibit at the Great American State Fair in Washington, DC removed an altered image of the North Carolina state flag that included Confederate battle flag emblems after visitors complained. Reporters and local outlets documented the display and its removal; NBC News and other coverage noted the altered flag had greeted visitors hoping to see North Carolina history. North Carolina Governor Josh Stein publicly condemned the display. The removal followed public complaints and prompted at least one reported vendor to withdraw from the event over the flag.

I like to think that a significant number of American's would be far too embarrassed to attend this badly thought out carnival show. That and the fact this economy is literally crushing everyone, who has the money to go to this? Better deals and food and actual fun at a Renaissance festival.

Hove President Donald Trump's Great American State Fair. I love its emptiness.
Its expensive food. Its ability to confound Trump-friendly media outlets that keep pretending it's going great.
This spectacle on the National Mall in Washington, DC, part of Trump's Trump-centric celebration of America's 250th anniversary, is like watching your high school bully host a party that no one attends. It's a daily humiliation for a wildly unpopular president who co-opted what should be a unifying national celebration and turned it into repellent schlock.
And I love it so much it hurts.
