Paraguay eliminate Germany on penalties, reach World Cup Round of 16
Germany and the Netherlands out of a World Cup on penalty kicks in the same day.
Unbelievable. This is for all hard-working underdogs out there!! Shine on, you crazy diamonds!! Paraguay Morrocco !!
What A Cup! Cape Verde for final, anyone?
IMO. They lost because the longer the game goes on, the more likely the underdog has to have the mental edge. Now, that doesn't mean Germany or The Netherlands couldn't have won. They could have, if they had changed from the strategy they used during regulation time.
What a crazy world cup!!
Of course, the fact that soccer decides tournament game ties by penalty kicks is itself ridiculous. It’s a beautiful game, but that is plain ugly.
Germany was, and has been, lackluster. Netherlands and Japan deserve to be in the next round. Morocco is one of the best teams and could not be thought of an underdog.
PARTY IN PARAGUAY JUST GETTING STARTED 🇵🇾 Paraguay’s president declared a national holiday for Tuesday, the day after the nation’s historic upset over Germany at the World Cup. And already, Paraguayans are taking FULL advantage ❤️🤍💙
Given France's history with Germany in football world cups, this is also how the French feel about Paraguay's win.
I had no dog in this particular hunt but: could a soccer-knower please explain why the Paraguayan goalie walking into the German striker and then falling down was a penalty against Germany? Hope Paraguay goes all the way, but still.
World Cup stop taking stutter steps and just hit the ball hard during penalties challenge
