Julian Champagnie intends to sign a three-year, $45 million contract with the San Antonio Spurs that runs through the 2028-29 season, sources told ESPN. The Spurs declined Champagnie’s $3 million team option to clear the way for the new deal. Victor Wembanyama called Champagnie an "indispensable" part of the team after last season. Champagnie was waived three years ago and has since worked his way into a key role for San Antonio. The new contract locks him into the Spurs’ rotation for the next three seasons.
