Defending champion Jannik Sinner survived a scare from Miomir Kecmanovic, winning a five-set first-round match 4-6, 6-3, 6-7, 6-2, 6-3 at Wimbledon. Kecmanovic rallied to take the third set in a tiebreak and pushed Sinner to his first five-set match win at Wimbledon. The victory was Sinner’s first five-setter since the 2024 Australian Open final and extended his run to eight consecutive Wimbledon match wins. Britain’s Cam Norrie was eliminated in the first round and will not progress to the second round.
