Former NBA guard Malik Beasley was indicted June 29, 2026, on federal gambling charges alleging point shaving, prop bets, wire fraud and money laundering, the indictment filed in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York says. Beasley, a former first round draft pick and nine-year NBA veteran, was first publicly linked to the federal probe in June 2025. Prosecutors say Beasley agreed to manipulate his play during a January 26, 2024 game while with the Milwaukee Bucks and that he worked with former NBA player Ed Davis in the scheme. Ed Davis, who played for eight teams and last appeared in the 2021, 22 season, was also among the defendants; the AP reported six people charged in the expanding investigation. Beasley’s attorney Steve Haney told ESPN the indictment carries five counts and that the government is coordinating a voluntary surrender this week. Both attorneys said they look forward to defending their clients against the charges.
