Roy Morgan’s poll for 22, 28 June (n=1,639) shows Labor primary support up 1 point to 28 percent while Pauline Hanson’s One Nation falls 5.5 points to 26 percent after Hanson’s public comments advocating a monocultural, one-language Australia. The Coalition (L-NP) rises 4 points to 21.5 percent, with the Liberals on 19 percent (up 4) and the Nationals on 2.5 percent. The two-party-preferred split in the poll gives Labor 53.5 percent versus L-NP 46.5 percent, a 0.5-point swing against Labor on that measure. Roy Morgan’s headline framing says the ALP is in an election-winning position as a result of the shift in primary votes. The poll also records the Greens at 13 percent (down 0.5) and independents/others at 11.5 percent (up 1).
