Milly Alcock praised in early Supergirl reviews

I have not seen the movie yet, but the weirdest take I’ve heard so far is that Milly Alcock’s Supergirl “isnt fun enough.” Yeah, the comic it’s based on isn’t exactly meant to showcase a fun-loving Kara. Sorry the character reliving deep personal trauma doesn’t say enough quips for you.

All the men who hated Sasha Calle as Supergirl in the Flash movie now love her because they get to use her as a blunt instrument to hit Milly Alcock with.

I liked #Supergirl, but it’s just ok, not great. Milly Alcock is fantastic, & origin flashbacks are the best part. I hope Milly gets to shine in future DC movies, and isn’t punished. It’s honestly no more “mid” than some other comic films lately. It’s getting more shit than those for one reason ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I thought Milly Alcock was fab as Supergirl. That girl got charisma! You see so many bland actors these days just reading their lines. She was AWESOME 🤩

Supergirl could’ve had more to it, but it soars in its own way with Milly Alcock and Jason Momoa lifting the picture with the action, comedy and music also adding some flavour. 8/10

It’s a very big THUMBS UP from me. We just watched #Supergirl and loved it. Milly Alcock absolutely kills it. The plot is paper thin, the fights are repetitive and not particularly original anymore, but it was a whole heap of fun. Go see it — ignore the reviewers and ratings, it worth a big screen.

SUPERGIRL (2026): Tom King’s original series embraces the expansiveness and illogic of comic books as a form, but Gillespie and Nogueira are unable to see their way to that story outside the limitations of the comic book movie. It’s a mess, but Milly Alcock almost (almost) saves it herself.

Welp, the Supergirl movie was disappointing. Felt like the director & Jason Momoa were making Judge Dredd (the Stallone version), Milly Alcock was in an A24 movie or Breaking Bad, and her sidekick was dressed for Dune but acting like she was in, I dunno, Mallory Towers or St Trinian's or something.
