Milly Alcock praised in early Supergirl reviews
I have not seen the movie yet, but the weirdest take I’ve heard so far is that Milly Alcock’s Supergirl “isnt fun enough.” Yeah, the comic it’s based on isn’t exactly meant to showcase a fun-loving Kara. Sorry the character reliving deep personal trauma doesn’t say enough quips for you.
“You’ve not seen the movie so any thoughts are invalid!” Begging you to actually read what I wrote. Be literate for but a moment.
That sounds like the movie review equivalent of "you should smile more"
Thing is, it is a pretty fun movie despite being pretty dark as well. There's plenty of humour in it. She's just not looking like she's smiling through a photoshoot through it.
Bet a character doesn't even mug for the camera and say "so that just happened" 0/10 literal trash
There are valid criticisms to be made of a mostly very good film, but if you go in thinking "this is going to be a bright, Silver-Age-Romp-With-A-Modern-Twist along the lines of Superman", then you've just not been paying attention.
