Kensington Palace released unseen footage of the Princess of Wales and Prince George visiting the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby to mark Armed Forces Day. The Princess has served as Royal Honorary Air Commodore of RAF Coningsby since August 2023. Across the UK local parades, flag-raisings and tributes marked the national day, with Burntwood specifically flying the Armed Forces Day flag. Civic and political representatives attended ceremonies in Manchester and Aldershot while community events in Stockport included military vehicle convoys and local stalls. Veterans and charities featured in observances, with one veteran noting the overlap of Armed Forces Day and PTSD Awareness Day and a visit to the Combat Stress charity in Leatherhead. Community activities also ranged from parkruns and memorial services at Crieff Cemetery to an Armed Forces Day festival in Warrington. Several organisations highlighted ongoing support, including South Wales Police receiving an Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award for employing ex-service personnel and reservists.
