Canada eligible to join Eurovision

musicJun 26, 202626832

The European Broadcasting Union confirmed Canada can compete in the Eurovision Song Contest after CBC/Radio-Canada became a full EBU member. Prime Minister Mark Carney first raised the idea of Canada joining Eurovision in his 2025 budget. EBU members voted to admit CBC/Radio-Canada, clearing the formal membership step that makes national participation possible. CBC has not yet committed to entering a Canadian act, so no submission or appearance has been announced. If CBC decides to participate, Canada will be eligible to submit entries to future Eurovision contests.
