Wrestler Joe Doering dies at 44

Joe Doering passing away is so, so sad. He was a fantastic wrestler and the fact that he was so good in between these horrible cancer battles tells you how tough he was. A big favourite from AJPW in the 2010s. RIP big man.

Joe Doering has passed away at 44 years old from a battle with brain cancer. We send our condolences to Joe's family and friends.

Took this photo of Joe Doering back in 2006 for Sin City Wrestling in Windsor, Ontario. Joe was always one of my favourite guys. I remember reading he won the AJPW Triple Crown Championship and soon after saw him walking his dog in the neighbourhood and got to congratulate him.

Joe Doering was a throwback. He was a hell of a talent that landed in the wrong era. Same age as me, no age to go. RIP the cowboy with the most fire I've seen in years.

Like, take Joe Doering and plop him in any other time period in wrestling history and he at least has like a Dr. Death Steve Williams-like career. Just a talented, super easy to book guy, which illustrates the ridiculous idiocy of WWE/TNA during his prime.

Always makes me roll my eyes (or in the event of a tragic death like Joe Doering today, angry!) when I go to a wiki profile of a guy that had a cup of coffee with WWE developmental after a major league career and they have the WWE trainers on their Trained By list

Every time I saw Joe Doering wrestle, I was 100% convinced he was some early 80s AJPW gaijin/old school territories guy, only to find out he'd be like 2 years old back then. Man was truly born in the wrong decade. Watch a Joe Doering match today. RIP.
