King Charles paid £12.9M in tax and will not live at Buckingham Palace
Awkward moment for the "tourists come to London in the hope of glimpsing the king at Buckingham Palace" brigade. www.thedailybeast.com/king-charles...
Maybe they could turn Buckingham Palace into a mix of museum, public space and social housing since it's no longer being used. Huge 42 acre garden could be converted into parkland.
Do something useful with it, and while we’re at it, maybe do something useful with the royals, like confining them to the bin of historical crap we don’t need.
Is he going to move to Manchester as well?
It’s quite the thing, I don’t understand. My Mum and Sister are committed royalists and I’ve listened and asked politely. It’s like a form of religion that is inexplicable to me But it’s a thing.
So you’re essentially going to look at a rather oversized office.
Think it’s one of the ugliest buildings in London. Just plonked down. Nasty, big and grey.
So, Buckingham Palace will still be a tourist attraction 🤔 Abolish monarchy.
I believe it was recently refurbished? Move the Commons and Lords into it as Westminster is falling apart.
They can dress Boris up as the king for the tourists
Former royal residences are much more interesting once the monarchy has been overthrown - think of Versailles or the Hermitage
