Konosuke Takeshita defeated Ricochet to retain the AEW International Championship on the June 24, 2026 episode of AEW Dynamite at the Rio Rancho Events Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The high-octane match featured prolonged sequences of counters and near-falls, and many viewers and commentators called it a potential match-of-the-year and one of Ricochet's best AEW performances. Takeshita's successful defense preserves his International Title and keeps him as champion going into the upcoming Forbidden Door pay-per-view.
