Mark Zuckerberg directed Meta to build a prediction‑markets app
Mark Zuckerberg directed Meta to build a standalone prediction‑markets app called Arena, The New York Times reports. Meta assembled a team to develop Arena as a rival to exchanges such as Polymarket and Kalshi and to keep it separate from the company’s existing apps. Prediction markets let users trade on outcomes such as elections, sports, and economic indicators, raising questions about betting rules, money transmission, and securities regulation while giving Meta another lever to direct user attention across its services.
one sign THE NEXT BIG THING is tapped out? When Zuck decide to copy it *ZUCKERBERG DIRECTED META TO CREATE PREDICTION MARKETS APP: NYT
Can he start a rocket company?
Finally quit the META ecosystem. No more Facebook No more WhatsApp No more Messenger Permanently.
Haha. He’s so thirsty and so unoriginal
Or when JD Vance endorses it
You have to ask: Is there a worse capital allocator CEO than Zuckerberg? Especially considering he's spending $600 billion on an LLM that's barely a blip in user stats.
To be fair, though, FaceZuck was LEADING on the horrific smart glasses tech.
Polymarket just got busted for creating fraudulent ads, complete w/ fake websites and paid actors pretending to "win" bets that never existed, focused on the US market WHERE ITS BANNED!! Source: WSJ share.google/CgYvAoLCOTeU...
Mark Zuckerberg thought long and hard how to make things even shittier, and came up with
Anything Meta buys (Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus) is great. Anything Zuckerberg thinks of on his own (Libra, Metaverse, now this crap) sucks ass.
Fucker never had an original idea in his life.
Zuck: What if we did an awful thing but worse but also we separate it from the only competitive advantage it might have so it will also fail miserably? Meta Board: I love it! here’s $600B
This is the shit the ad money generated by the pictures of your kids first and last day of school goes.
Mark Zuckerberg will not be satisfied until he has failed on every new technological frontier
I had a similar goal when it came to be rejected by every hot girl in high school. I was spectacularly successful in my failure.
He had one good idea, which was "MySpace, but less annoying," made it work just well enough to beat his competition and corner the market, then let it rot while buying up other competitor services. Now the well is running dry and he has no other ideas.
News: Meta is currently building a prediction markets app to rival Polymarket and Kalshi, according to sources the app, currently called "Arena," will be a standalone offering and was ordered up by Mark Zuckerberg www.nytimes.com/2026/06/23/t...
importantly, the app is currently experimental and will not include using real money, though insiders have also not fully ruled out a future in which that could happen. unclear if it will be released
They really have zero new ideas huh
I like how much of the "innovation" in the 21st century tech industry is "let's do exactly the same thing our competitors are doing."
Can we stop calling these "prediction markets" and just start calling them what they are: gambling
dude's never had a single solitary original idea huh
Yo, you telling me Mark Zuckerberg saw a successful app and directed his company to create a copycat version?
Mark Zuckerberg has directed Meta to build an app similar to fast-growing prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi. The experimental app, internally called “Arena,” would be independent of Facebook and Instagram. nyti.ms/43TjexF
Zuckerberg, Professional copycat and new idea emulator.
Can I make a bet that Meta's prediction market won't be successful?
I love how this guy’s new ideas are just running into other people’s ideas and then falling on his face. If you don’t think he ran Facebook off a cliff and dropped it onto the charred body of MySpace, you haven’t been on the platform in a while. So, good for you!
Copying others models and using unfair advantages to gain market typical Zuckerberg strategy.
He’s late to every shitty idea lmao.
This guy has never had an original idea in his life.
they should name the app after Zuckerberg and call it Douche
