Winter Solstice observed in the Southern Hemisphere
The June solstice fell on June 21, marking the winter solstice in the Southern Hemisphere as Earth’s south pole reached its maximum tilt away from the Sun. Australian locations recorded their shortest daylight of the year, with Hobart seeing about 9 hours 1 minute and other regions around 9 hours 42 minutes. Meteorologists say the solstice delivers the shortest day but not necessarily the coldest mornings or the latest sunrise because seasonal lag shifts temperature and sunrise timing. Daylight will now lengthen across southern latitudes, so mornings will gradually get brighter over the coming weeks.
Winter Solstice. We made it. We even have new babies because one of my hens is confused about what month it is. www.instagram.com/p/DZ0_L21zve...
You already had so much grief you're working through, your mom is just crushing. I understand. All that you have lost, in loved ones, home, kitties, kittens, you feel there's only so much your soul can take. The dark time of the year is horrible for me, too. I have a light panel that helps so/
Every day forward, you will get lighter, and we will get darker. New babies! (Someone is always out of sync) 🐥
