Victor Muñoz to join Liverpool

Liverpool have agreed a deal worth about £35 million to sign 22-year-old Osasuna winger Víctor Muñoz after triggering his €40 million release clause. Muñoz has passed a medical and will sign a six-year contract, becoming the first signing of Andoni Iraola's Anfield era. Newcastle, Bayer Leverkusen, Manchester United and Real Madrid had all been interested in the attacker. The 22-year-old led Europe's top seven leagues with 48 accelerations this season and ranks highly for progressive carries, successful dribbles and accurate crosses, giving Liverpool a rapid, direct option down the flanks that strengthens their wide attacking choices ahead of next season.

Not a great look for Newcastle getting big dogged on a signing (again), but Victor Muñoz feels quite Liverpool and feels very Iraola. Quick, snappy winger who likes to carry the ball and play off both sides - super direct. €40m not a huge outlay on reasonable wages.
