Stephen Colbert's finale prank forces CBS to pay, fee donated
Stephen Colbert played the Peanuts TV specials theme "Linus and Lucy" without a license during The Late Show finale, and CBS will pay an undisclosed fee to clear the use. The owner of the Peanuts rights has agreed to donate that payment to José Andrés' World Central Kitchen. The stunt turned a copyright liability into a charitable payout, converting Colbert's final prank into money for hunger relief.
