Even if we drill every last drop, it won’t make bills cheaper as oil is priced on global markets. A crises strikes anywhere & prices spike. Real energy independence comes from renewables & nuclear power. These cut the reliance on volatile global oil markets & bring bills down long-term. (2/3)

Gary Carter #FBPE 🇬🇧4Also, almost all oil extracted from the North Sea has to be exported to be refined as it’s unsuitable for the (few remaining) UK refineries anyway. Therefore we export crude and import refined products.
