Brendan Sorsby has applied for the NFL Supplemental Draft after mutually parting ways with Texas Tech following a gambling scandal and multiple legal filings over his NCAA eligibility. A Lubbock County judge last week issued an injunction barring the NCAA from preventing Sorsby from playing under its gambling rules, and the NCAA has filed an emergency petition in a Texas appeals court to stay that injunction. Scouts view Sorsby as potential early-round talent, so his supplemental entry could make him one of the highest-drafted supplemental picks in years and will force NFL teams to weigh his on-field upside against continuing legal and eligibility questions.
