PWHL San Jose will pick fourth overall in the entry draft on Wednesday, the league just announced.

A reframe could be helpful: acknowledging that there are more than 72 PWHL-calibre players in the draft doesn't mean there are 72+ draftees who are better than 72+ current players. It means there are 72+ players who are as good as or better than *some* current PWHL players. That's PWHL calibre!

I feel like the PWHL draft order won’t be released until after Phase 4, because the league wants to figure it out both based on season standings, and the current makeup of the 12 teams. I don’t think that’s a terrible idea, but the expansion timing should have been reworked to be earlier.

The thing about the PWHL draft order is that for the existing teams the order makes logical sense, and even the expansion teams being higher makes sense (last year they were last and those teams sucked shit!) and yet it's still managed to make everyone mad except for Vancouver.

The PWHL draft order does make sense but I DO give them a little side eye for giving host Detroit the highest pick of the expansion teams. It's not really an issue in the big picture but does sort of stir up potential conspiracy theory chatter. #PWHL

I'm sorry but what an absolute nightmare this is. Prioritizing expansion teams over existing teams that have 1. Had a lackluster season & would benefit from the picks. 2. Were ripped apart due to the expansion draft. How is this fair? This just worsens teams in need of improvement #PWHL
