PWHL announces 2026 draft order, expansion teams pick 3, 6
The PWHL set its 2026 Entry Draft order, with the Vancouver Goldeneyes selecting first overall and the Seattle Torrent picking second. The league awarded picks 3 through 6 to its four expansion clubs: PWHL Detroit at 3, PWHL San Jose at 4, PWHL Las Vegas at 5, and PWHL Hamilton at 6, while existing teams slide to the back of the first round. The expansion slots were assigned by a randomized draw conducted with all general managers present, and the full order places New York Sirens 7, Toronto Sceptres 8, Minnesota Frost 9, Boston Fleet 10, Ottawa Charge 11, and Montréal Victoire 12. The draft opens Wednesday, and giving new franchises high picks immediately shifts access to top prospects and will reshape rosters and competitive balance for the 2026 season.

I hate being a downer on the league but this offseason has been very poorly executed. Y'all gotta do better.
Any particular reason Toronto and New York are getting shafted?
The offseason has been botched at every opportunity so far this offseason and it's only been a few weeks. You guys need to get your shit together
Expansion teams get to steal everyone away and still get better picks, absolutely a huge middle finger to fans who have been here since season 1.
The thing about the PWHL draft order is that for the existing teams the order makes logical sense, and even the expansion teams being higher makes sense (last year they were last and those teams sucked shit!) and yet it's still managed to make everyone mad except for Vancouver.
"Why is Detroit going THIRD?" they're the host city and also they're actually going 14th because they traded that pick away. The only major thing I'd change is putting all Gold Plan teams (Toronto + NYC) ahead of the expansion teams, because the Sirens do end up shafted here which is a shame.
expansions too, to be fair.
