Stanford graduates walk out during Sundar Pichai commencement speech
Around 200 Stanford students walked out of Stanford's 2026 commencement as Google CEO Sundar Pichai took the stage, booing, waving Palestinian flags, chanting "Free Palestine," and exiting the ceremony. Organizers included Students for Justice in Palestine and No Tech for Apartheid, which said the protest targeted Google’s Project Nimbus and its contracts with the Israeli government, the Department of Homeland Security, and ICE. Pichai largely avoided discussing artificial intelligence in his remarks and offered broader advice to graduates instead. The walkout spotlights campus opposition to Big Tech government partnerships and raises scrutiny on tech executives invited to university events.

I now have hope for the future
Wow I am impressed! They really did learn stuff. 🔥
This generation knows exactly who is to blame for stealing their futures.
We have future leaders here😍
Awesome. Don't mess with California.
More than 100 students stood up and left shortly after Pichai began speaking on June 14, 2026. A coordinated protest against Google’s Project Nimbus, a $1.2 billion cloud and AI contract with the Israeli government. Protesters chanted “Free, free Palestine” and carried Palestinian flags.
It'd be worth attending commencement just to walk out tbh
How to humiliate an oligarch.👌🏻
Google's complicity in Genocide. Profiting from war crimes.
The one educational institution in America hypocritical enough to serve as the premier Silicon Valley feeder school, invite Sundar Pichai to speak, AND try to feign a moral high ground against AI.
They got the memo. Shit, these college kids are writing the memos!
The next generation is our hope‼️ Thank you for standing up for what is right‼️ Fuck Stanford for booking him!
The kids are alright 👍
Yay Grads!!! This is amazing
I now have hope this generation will crush the tech oligarch bros
Mister google Pichai oversees 'Project Nimbus' the 2021 joint contract between Google and Amazon aiming to provide cloud computing infrastructure, (AI) and other technology services Israel and its military conducting its genocidal war on Gaza
Whoa! A local news outlet showed the grad ceremony, and part of Pichal speaking. But they did not show the walkout. Good for them!!!
I hope they vote in the midterms
Way to go young Americans.
The kids are al'right ♥️
That is awesome! Why listen to some wealthy SOB who is actively taking away future employment opportunities. Who is so out of touch with a regular person's reality. As you face your new future with school loans to pay off $$$$
Faith and hope with the young
Bravo students! Oligarchs get OUT of OUR COUNTRY!
I am so glad to see people finally waking up to these billionaire criminals!
Bust up the big tech oligarchy.
Those dozen or so people who stayed seated probably have future jobs with Google or something lol
Good for them. These tech bros are so in love with themselves. They need a reality check. The next generation doesn't want the AI dystopia they are pushing.
Nicely done! They will go far in life already! 💙
Hooray!!! This next generation needs to say enough is enough to tech surveillance and AI.
Stanford students have a history for standing up for what is right. Stanford Out of South Africa was a clear example of doing the right thing. The University was forced to divest financial holdings in 1985.
Even a Stanford degree can't protect them from what is to come.
I love this for him.
You can walk from Mountain View where Google is located along El Camino Real to the Stanford University campus, and these graduates will not fall into the corporate strangle hold so prevalent in Santa Clara County, as their futures will soar / lead elsewhere; congratulations graduates 2026!
The kids are gonna be alright.
God, I wish we could've done something like that at my school
THAT is awesome! Way to go graduates
Reading this makes me very happy. Thank you!
Google CEO Sundar Pichai has not publicly responded to Palantir CEO Alex Karp’s specific comments about AI undermining college-educated women.
There is hope for the future … if we can survive tRUMP 2.0
This is the way. Now let's see all the Exempts at his company and all the others like it walk out of their all hands meetings. Then keep going.
