Steven Spielberg's Disclosure Day opens to reviews noting familiar sci‑fi beats
Steven Spielberg's new alien thriller Disclosure Day opened to reviews that point to Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T., Minority Report and The Post. Critics note the film reuses Spielberg motifs, including suburban intimacy, public-institution drama and emotional uplift, with some calling it a striking return to form and others saying its echoes feel like a retread. Spielberg said Disclosure Day is the capstone of an unofficial sci fi trilogy following Close Encounters and E.T., which helps explain its deliberate callbacks. The film matters because it refocuses Spielberg on questions of identity and institutional response while packaging those themes for a major summer release.
I’m watch Disclosure Day but I got myself one of the remaining TADC buckets!!
Disclosure Day was fun, thrilling, a wonderful watch that is refreshingly earnest. Maybe too earnest for many, but deeply Spielberg in visuals and action with music that is VERY John Williams. Been a while since I experienced that myself LOL
I didn’t manage to get bucket I don’t think my theatre ever had them to be fair
