Pride Month celebrations and art share across Bluesky
Creators, streamers and community groups launched Pride Month art challenges, merch sales and mutual-aid fundraisers, including a 50-plus STL miniature pack drive raising donations for Point of Pride and a Femboy Fight Club fundraiser for the Trevor Project. One organizer posted $5,956 raised toward a $10,000 goal, while SAG-AFTRA promoted a 50 percent off Pride tank flash sale through June 14. Local history and service organizations received spotlighting, from a new historical marker for drag aerialist Barbette in Round Rock, Texas to shout-outs for LYRIC youth services and the Miss Major Alexander L. Lee TGIJP Black Trans Cultural Center Justice Project. The combination of artwork, event listings, media recommendations and direct donation appeals funneled Pride Month activity into tangible support and local visibility for LGBTQ+ people this month.
At a moment when politicians in Washington are targeting trans people, rolling back rights, and trying to divide us, Pride this year is a reminder that we must always stand together and fight for one another. Happy Pride, New York City.
