Resident Evil: Veronica remake will be third-person, Capcom says
Capcom confirms Resident Evil Veronica is a third-person game "the team behind this remake is the same team that handled the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 remakes" Team's mindset includes "preserving those iconic and key aspects of the title" www.ign.com/articles/res...
Hearing this is the 2 and 4 team is all I needed to know. Lets go three for three baby.
It's sad how much they just didn't care about 3. It's so blatant they did that as lip service, and really cared to get to 4 as soon as possible. It's not like the 3 remake is even *bad* or anything, but you can feel how rushed it was.
They gotta give us a fully first person, horror-focused title after this one I love all the remakes and the first person entries, but man I would kill for another scary as shit first person game like RE7
we are so close to capcom having to decide if it will remake resident evil 5 or not. a long game of chicken as it tries to decide if it can stall for time by doing veronica or 0 first. you can not run forever
That reveal trailer showed "R," "E," and V" before the full title reveal. I saw that as maybe them trying to rebadge this as 5 in a way to just skip it.
They've already started abbreviating Veronica as "REV" they're trying so hard to avoid it
staring at the 'IsRacist' flag in the editor and sweating over if they want to assign a 0 or 1 to it now
I wonder how much of the remakes have been made with this in mind, and they’ve been subtly changing the story so that an RE5 “remake” has a completely different story
Think about this awful article at least once a week www.destructoid.com/ngai-croal-c...
if they ever did touch it, which i genuinely don’t think they ever should, it’d be such an overhaul that it’s effectively a new game. considering that RE:V will be the first proper time the remake series even deals with Wesker, it’s a good opp to actually remake something.
Remaking V is a lose lose. A remake that retains the controversial elements would be seen as insensitive by one group, a remake that removes them would be decried as 'woke' by another.
years ago i wouldve said 4 was the absolute limit but somehow we've had a the last of us remake so i just dont know
I don't know how you fix Turbo Racism but I want to see them try so badly
I think they create basically a new game that hits the basic gist of 5+6
I've been trying to challenge myself to come up with a way they could do it that wouldn't be a catastrophe. I got nothing. They're stuck. There's no way
Remake RE5 but as an online only extraction shooter, it would require only minor tweaks and everyone would be satisfied. Right?
From me today: I asked whether Resident Evil: Veronica will have the perspective toggle Requiem had, do they intend to make Steve less objectionable, and some other bits about the newly-announced RE game. www.restart.run/articles/res...
Also today: I tried the Onimusha demo with a free-wandering quest. It was neat. Not game-changing, but I'm interested to see how the game uses it. www.restart.run/articles/oni...
I'm more worried about the Alfred/Alexia thing. Is it possible to do that without being transphobic? Do I trust them to at least try?
Interesting tidbit from the Resident Evil Veronica Famitsu Interview When asked about Dino Crisis we get a playful "No Comment". Which isn't odd BUT is different from the usual "I would love to see that too" type of response. Could be nothing, but it sticks out www.famitsu.com/article/2026...
i decided to check the japanese to be absolutely sure and yeah I would interpret this as "we're doing something but can't talk details quite yet" the game did poll high on that capcom survey thing so I imagine it's at least on their radar
At some point they will run out of Resident Evil games to remake
