I don't really understand why NASA doesn't reuse crews, at least partial crews. Is the radiation exposure too high? Is the Astronaut program a make-a-wish thing for pilots? Wouldn't it help to at least have two people who have done it before on Artemis III?

I'd be infinitely more willing to give NASA the benefit of the doubt and assume that the all-male Artemis III crew was a quirk of mission scheduling if we weren't constantly being inundated by headlines like this:
