Microsoft released the June 2026 Patch Tuesday updates for Windows 11, KB5094126 and KB5093998, closing roughly 200 security flaws including three zero-day vulnerabilities. A proof-of-concept for one zero-day named RoguePlanet demonstrates how Microsoft Defender can be exploited to gain SYSTEM privileges on fully patched Windows 11. Microsoft also pushed PowerToys 0.100.0, which uses recent optimizations to become significantly faster and smaller and adds new features. These updates matter because the Defender zero-day enables full privilege escalation while the PowerToys improvements deliver a leaner, higher-performance utility for users.
