Nintendo Direct, June 9: Kingdom Hearts IV, Ocarina remake and Xenoblade
Nintendo's June 9 Direct revealed Kingdom Hearts IV, a Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and a new Xenoblade game called Xenoblade Genesis. The presentation also delivered dozens of other announcements across Nintendo franchises, including updates for Fire Emblem, Splatoon, and Dragon Quest Monsters. Those reveals tie major RPGs and classic Nintendo properties to the upcoming Switch 2 era, giving players headline reasons to consider a hardware upgrade and shaping the console's early software slate.
Nintendo just secured the bag with this Direct. It said: -I have exclusives and some of the best ones in the industry -I also have 2nd and 3rd party games just like the rest of y'all but on the go If that lineup didn't do it for you, it's fine. But it was a great showing. Banger after Banger!
It seriously exceeded my expectations. So excited for all of these bangers coming out so soon!!! Even if I can't afford them 😅
Me hoping for a new Wave Race game and seeing the jet skis in Switch Sports “I’ll allow it” lol. Great direct but why so long on thumb wrestling lmao Ocarina was right there we needed a bit more from that trailer 😭. New Xenoblade though!!!! Ahhhh!
I was amazed by this Direct. Like holy crap, man.
there aren’t many games that hold weight like final fantasy and kingdom hearts anymore obviously Zelda as well, and then debatably resident evil? team ico games still do for me, but I don’t think they do for younger people I wonder how you create that again
death stranding 1 did, but not as much 2 god of war 2016 had weight to it, but I don’t think it has since my best guess is it’s a matter of games feeling too much like a “known quantity” spider man 1 had a weight to it, but every spider man since and wolverine all felt like “I get it” beforehand
I think if the bosses let the devs make new experimental games instead of remakes of remakes of "safe" titles we'd have a lot more big "safe" ip by now.
