Big news away from here: Jim Curtin finally takes his next job. He’ll become Austin FC’s manager “after the 2026 season,” the club says. “I had several other opportunities, both within MLS and abroad, but none of them excited me the way this project did,” Curtin says in the announcement.

A strong hire from Austin FC, who will need to build out the front office to give Jim Curtin the pieces he needs to win games (let's not forget that the Union really hit their stride when that happened in Philly). Good first step in Austin's new era.

Jim Curtin is a heck of a hire. Philly wasn’t top consistently under him, but that always seemed more about the investment from the top. And they did get within seconds of lifting MLS Cup. A shift in strategy for Austin FC if an emphasis of developing talent comes with him.

Austin FC has announced that Jim Curtin will be the new Head Coach following the conclusion of the 2026 MLS season. The club confirmed that Curtin will be involved in the process of hiring the next Sporting Director. Davy Arnaud will remain as Interim Head Coach through the remainder of 2026.
