Jim Curtin to become Austin FC head coach after 2026 season
Austin FC announced Jim Curtin will become the club's third head coach following the conclusion of the 2026 Major League Soccer season, officially taking over for the 2027 campaign. Davy Arnaud will continue as interim head coach and will lead Austin FC for the remainder of the 2026 season. Curtin, WHO previously managed the Philadelphia Union and guided them to an MLS Cup final, said he turned down other MLS and overseas offers because the Austin project excited him. The hire gives Austin FC an experienced MLS tactician expected to help shape roster building and the club's sporting direction ahead of 2027.
BREAKING: Jim Curtin will become Austin FC head coach after the 2026 season. Huge hire for Austin.
Austin FC Sprint Season champions LETS FUCKING GO!
The only thing wrong with this hire is the "after the 2026 season" part.
Does Curtain as coach and an owner willing to spend makes this a really appealing sporting director job?
This is incredible news for me personally, someone who has been having actual reoccurring nightmares this past week about Austin FC getting blown out in matches forever If anyone reading this wants to say I have an unhealthy attachment to supporting this team you can mind your own business lol
There's still plenty to play for this season for Austin - we can win Copa Tejas AND the Wooden Spoon. Thread that needle!
