cultureJun 8, 2026932

Big Freeze 12 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground sent celebrities down an ICE slide to raise money for FightMND in memory of motor neurone disease campaigner Neale Daniher. Nathan Jones dressed as DJ Fisher and performed a shoey before plunging into the ICE, while Amy Shark dressed as Amy Winehouse, Sam Mac went as Bluey, Jo Weston channelled Kylie Minogue, and the Governor-General also took part. Organisers sold new Big Freeze 12 beanies and ran other fundraising activities to support MND research and patient services. The event was the first Big Freeze at the MCG since Neale Daniher's death, reinforcing the campaign's role in keeping attention and funding focused on MND.
