TCM Party screens The Blue Dahlia
Turner Classic Movies hosted a TCM Party/Noir Alley screening of the 1946 film noir The Blue Dahlia, directed by George Marshall and starring Alan Ladd, Veronica Lake, and William Bendix, scheduled in morning slots with a runtime around 1 hour 36 minutes. The plot follows ex-pilot Johnny Morrison, played by Alan Ladd, WHO returns from World War II to find his cheating wife murdered and must clear his name, culminating in a tense twist ending. The film is notable for its staged crowd-shot compositions and the chemistry between Ladd and Veronica Lake; Lake was born Constance Ockelman and actually held a pilot's license in real life.
