Colman Domingo praised for Euphoria season 3 finale
Colman Domingo delivered a scene-stealing turn in the Euphoria season 3 finale, prompting critics to call for awards recognition. Reviewers specifically praised Domingo's raw emotional delivery and commanding presence opposite Zendaya and the ensemble during the finale's climactic sequence. That performance gives the finale a clear emotional center and reshapes awards conversations by spotlighting supporting talent.
Truly can't believe just how much talent on Euphoria is wasted by Sam Levinson being one of the worst writers on TV. From the cinematography to legendary performances by Zendaya, Colman Domingo, and many others. All wasted on a story that sought shock value above anything actually meaningful.
I'm also so pissed at what a dumb pointless storyline they gave to Hunter Schafer. She just sat in her sugar daddy's penthouse and painted the whole time. They could've removed her from the entire story and nothing would've changed.
My hot take is the show has always sucked (despite the good performances and decent portrayals of queer characters) and the very concept was written with one hand. Not interested in the sex life of teenagers. The fact that Drake is an executive producer says it all.
All of his instincts as a storyteller are somehow simultaneously really basic and over the top.
I feel like the cast was tricked into it with season 1. They were clearly pitched a completely different show.
I haven't watched any of it because Sweeney is a gross person.
I mean its not like euphoria was ever thought provoking cinema, but definitely agree the story is no different if Jules isn't even in this season at all. At least she got a bag for pretending to paint a few times.
The worst of it for me was the final episode and the corny embrace of “faith”, the creepy cult of Christians living in the desert as saviors. Made me regret ever watching any of it. Fuck religion as anything but brainwashing.
The final 45 minutes is Sam Levinson doing the crow. It was a spectacle of questionable choices.
Isn’t that true of everything made for streaming lately? Horrendous scripts. Dead end characters. More filler content than story. Everything Taylor Sheridan produces.
Wasn't one of the most recent episodes received as the worst in the whole series?
Super happy I was completely turned off by what seemed to be nothing but shock for the sake of shock after the first couple episodes. It seemed so nihilistic as to be absurd.
Is it just me or did it sound like AI did a lot of the writing?
The Euphoria finale answers the question we've all had from the start: How sick would it be to watch Colman Domingo dressed as a crazed veteran and Adewale Akinnouye-Agbaje dressed as a rhinestone cowboy have a standoff and shootout in a strip club? The answer won't surprise you: siiiiiiiick
They used squibs. Squibs, Jerry!
Look I don't care how a show gets to an idea like this, if you come up with this kind of thing you go right ahead and railroad the plot as much as you have to
I would say "I have questions" but honestly this is about right for a show I only hear about via "what the fuck was that"
