AAA announced a Mask vs Mask match for Noche de Los Grandes on May 30, 2026, pitting El Grande Americano against the "Original" El Grande Americano. The loser will be forced to unmask, a Lucha Libre career-defining stipulation, and the card also features three title matches. The saga of the Los Grandes Americanos is the greatest booking WWE has done in decades and for all its other many faults deserves every ounce of praise for it

We have an American Olympic wrestler pretending to be a luchadore and wearing a mask against a German man pretending to be an American who is wearing a luchadore mask. And tonight one of those men, who we all know and have seen wrestle without a mask for years and years, will lose their mask and be humiliated. What a preposterous stipulation.
