AEW Collision opened with a Lee Moriarty video package and teased a Forbidden Door showdown between STARDOM champion Thekla and NJPW star Taro Okada. During the segment Thekla publicly warned the STARDOM executive WHO fired her months earlier not to show up at Forbidden Door next month. The Moriarty video also set up speculation about a Pure Rules experiment pitting Lee Moriarty against Zack Sabre Jr, signaling AEW's push to spotlight Ring of Honor talent and technical matches on the cross-promotional Forbidden Door card.
