Anastasia Potapova rallied from a set down to beat defending champion Coco Gauff 4-6, 7-6(1), 6-4 in the third round at Roland Garros, taking the second-set tiebreak 7-1. Potapova erased a 1-3 deficit in the deciding set to win the last stretch of games and close out the match. The victory is Potapova's third consecutive win over Gauff and ends world No. 4 Gauff's title defense. Potapova, WHO nearly fell out of the top 100 earlier this season, now advances and opens the draw to the possibility of a surprise deep run at the tournament.
