Pentagon seeks troops to attend White House UFC fight, sets body standards
The Pentagon asked units to nominate up to 1,200 service members to attend a White House-hosted UFC fight celebrating President Donald Trump's 80th birthday. An internal memo told commanders to submit only nominees WHO meet military height, weight and body-composition fitness standards before tickets would be issued. The requirement raises legal and military-ethics questions about deploying troops to presidential events and about selecting attendees based on appearance and fitness.
