MJ Melendez launched a two-run, 373-foot walk-off homer in the 10th inning off reliever Pete Fairbanks, giving the Mets a 9-7 extra-innings victory over the Marlins and scoring Vidal Bruján. The ball left the bat at a 105.0 mph exit velocity on a 98.4 mph four-seam fastball, and the homer came with one out and an 0-2 count. Manager Carlos Mendoza said, "Special. You got to give him credit. This guy continues to work." The finish hands the Mets a clutch extra-innings win and underscores Melendez as a late-game power threat WHO can end games instantly.
