Bari Weiss instigates major shake-up at 60 Minutes
Bari Weiss, CBS News editor-in-chief, named journalist Nick Bilton as the new executive producer of 60 Minutes. She has removed several veteran producers and begun a broad leadership restructuring after saying it was time for a 'new approach' and a new chapter. The shake-up targets a flagship CBS news program and could shift 60 Minutes' investigative priorities and on-air lineup going forward.
Cecilia Vega, the first 60 Minutes Latina correspondent, was fired today, along with some of her colleagues, as Bari Weiss overhauls the news magazine. She has released this statement:

CBS made it official today and fired Sharyn Alfonsi. This is after Alfonsi revealed that the network and Bari Weiss hadn't responded to her for months as her contract expired. It's also after Alfonsi was cheered at last night's Emmys, while Bari was called out by a kid for destroying the network.
