Empire revealed first images and a world-exclusive cover for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, paired with interviews featuring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Kevin Feige, and Jon Bernthal. The film is slated to open July 31, and Empire’s issue carrying the feature goes on sale June 4. Kevin Feige calls Brand New Day the first MCU film to center the “classic elements” of Peter Parker, saying, “He’s doing the Spidey thing of living in a rather sad, small apartment, listening to the police scanner and going out and using his great power responsibly.” That focus on Parker’s small-apartment life and street-level details signals a more grounded, character-driven Spider-Man that could reset the hero’s tone within the MCU.
