George Floyd should be alive today. On the anniversary of his murder, our hearts break for his family and community. Nothing will bring George Floyd back to his loved ones – to his little girl, Gianna. But there is work left for all of us to do.

I will never forget the sadness and the outrage I felt when I saw the video Darnella Frazier bravely recorded, revealing the truth—that this was a public lynching, not a medical incident.

George Floyd should be alive. It is a moral failing of Minneapolis that Jacob Frey is still mayor and that MPD is funded at higher levels than ever before & STILL overspending. None of that failure is of South Minneapolis. It is the white liberals and the overseer class that still hold power.

Six years ago, George Floyd was murdered by former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. The police were never defunded; instead, they were given handfuls of cash for more “training” and “reforms." Officers continue to get away with killing people, robbing families of their loved ones.

Bro, my city councilman just voted to give MPD a fancy new wellness center(it failed thankfully), same MPD that is still on a wildcat strike since George Floyd, same MPD that is 20m over budget and can’t explain the overage, same MPD that just stood by while ICE terrorized our city
