Israel has constructed more than 25 kilometers of earthen barriers and military bases along Gaza's so-called "yellow line." The new works appear as elevated earthen forts and support bases cutting through Gaza's devastated landscape. That belt of fortifications physically divides Gaza into separate zones, restricting civilian movement and complicating delivery of humanitarian aid. The positions create buffer zones and staging areas that indicate a longer-term shift in WHO controls territory on the ground.
