Gold Star families remembered on Memorial Day
On Memorial Day, ceremonies at the World War II Memorial and local VA centers honored Gold Star families, with speakers including retired Navy SEAL Jason Redman and casualty notification officer Will Selber. Families of service members killed in action laid wreaths, received honors, and urged sustained mental health and financial support for surviving relatives. Several Gold Star relatives used the events to voice anger at recent wars and to pledge continued civic engagement and resistance to policies they view as harmful. The observances underscored the human cost of U.S. military operations and reinforced calls for long-term care and policy changes for military families.
Thank you to all the men & women that served & sacrificed all so that we could be free. To give up on principles that they died for would be dishonoring their sacrifice for this nation. Remember those who died & the Gold Star families today as we pray that their sacrifice was not in vein. #Pinks
We should never forget those who gave their lives for a better world! It should spur us all to protect what they died for! Their sacrifices should not be for nothing!
Love that we celebrate them in our hearts even in the darkness of the current regime. We owe so much to to those who so loved us and our country, that they gave all.
